Attention now turns to the opening events of the 2026 campaign as the MIJRS heads west this weekend for the Yeats Ridge Connacht Forestry Rally in Sligo.

The event marks the third round of the J1000 championship and the opening round for both Class 2 and Class 2A, setting the stage for a new season of competition across gravel. Young drivers will be looking to build momentum early, with championship points and development opportunities on the line from the very first stage.

The Yeats Ridge Connacht Forestry Rally is expected to attract a strong field of junior competitors and will provide a true test of skill and consistency on classic forest stages, as MIJRS continues its role as Ireland’s premier pathway for emerging rally drivers.
